What’s going on.

Monday, August 18th, 2008

Well the answer to that is that we’ve taken a mid-season break to restock our inventory as we sold so much at the last three festivals. We will be back on the road in September and have things booked thru November 1st so far. My wife and partner Harriet aka “Ladyhawk” Celebrated her birthday August 13th and this past weekend we returned to Brushwood in NY for some R&R with friends that couldn’t make it down for the Sirius Rising/Starwood dates in July. But now it’s back to work and I have two commissions for copies of a set of pieces I did for a friend. Her friends like them so much they would like their own. They are the pin-up style women woodburnings with a faerie, devil girl, witch and mermaid. Also I must quest for wood for runesets again so I will be off to Akron soon to see my lumberjack friend who saves me good branches when he takes down trees (Thanks Gorden). I will post again this week as to our upcoming festivals but until then,

Ok, things are really starting to go together well. Hawke’s Nest will be at the Oberlin Collage Beltaine festival, on Tappen square (right down town) in Oberlin, Ohio Saturday April, 19 2008 from 12-6 so come on down for a good time. They have lots of stuff going on and some good vendors too. We will also be at Brushwood folklore center, Sherman Ny. in July for Sirius Rising and Starwood More on that as it gets closer. We have also been asked and hope to do a Ren Faire in October (all 4 weekends) and I think we will so I’ll give you the details when it’s confirmed. Have some new Items that will be going up on the site next week I hope so keep tuned in for more pictures and updates. B*B* Ceir

Updates

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Hi world just writing a quick update to keep in touch. We have received conformation that we will be at The Maryland Faerie festival June 7th and 8th. Check them out at www.marylandfaeriefestival.orgIt’s going to be great! Unfortunately we were turned down for a second time by the folks at Spoutwood farm so we won’t be there. My work on the silver wolf head is moving into the final stages and I will post pictures of it and it’s prototypes soon. Also we will have new stock pictures soon so check back.

Til later Ceir

It’s February

Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

It’s February and I’ve been busily preparing for the festival season. We just got in a shipment of enameled copper rings for Harriet’s chainmaille that she will be combining with silver to make some fancy new Byzantine bracelets with a two tone look. I’ve applied for vending at Spoutwood farm’s May day faerie festival the first weekend of May www.fairiefestival.net in Glen Rock, PA. and the Maryland Faerie Festival in June www.marylandfaeriefestival.orgI’ve vended at spoutwood two years ago and it’s a great festival. Maryland will be new for us but we hear from others that it is great as well. I hope to have good news soon on those! We will also be returning to the World of Faeries festival at Vasa park in South Elgin, Illinois www.theworldoffaeries.com in August. I’m starting to work on new stock for this year and hope to be doing some silver-work soon as I’ve started working with PMC, precious metal clay, which I just love.  It is fine silver in a organic binder that can be molded or sculpted into almost anything and when fired it becomes solid silver. I’ll also be posting more of our work in the next week or so so come back often and see what’s new. That’s about it for now, Ceir

A New Year

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

It’s a new year and is already a busy one for us at Hawke’s Nest. We are working hard to compleat this web site and hope to have it done in the next week or so. We also have been contacted about several custom orders including a silver wolf pendent, a silver circlet for a new priestess, and more of my wife’s chainmaile jewelry! We are also getting set up for several festivals and hope if accepted to do Spoutwood farm’s Faerie festival in May and the Maryland Faerie festival in June. Both are great festivals, large with lot’s to do. The people that run them are great so I really want to do them. I’ll be putting up links soon to them as well as other things we’ll be doing. I of course have a lot of stock to make by then so I best get to it. More later, Ceir
